Mercury Retrograde: A Time to Say Goodbye

Buckle your seatbelt. It's going to be a bumpy ride.

We've entered a cosmic cycle known as, Mercury Retrograde. It began May 18th and will continue through June 11th.

What does this mean? I'm not quite sure. I'm no expert when it comes to planetary alignment, but I like to think about it like this --

Retrograde is like being in a parking spot, and having to shift into reverse in order to drive away from where I came from, to drive on to where I need to go. Does it feel like I'm going backwards for a moment? Yes. I have to, so I can leave the past behind and go forward in life.

The past couple of weeks, I've had this overpowering urge to clean out, clear out, cut back, step back and evaluate, weed and prune the dead brush, branches and leaves from my life. I've been doing a lot of reflecting -- backing up my mental vehicle and assessing where I've been, and what I need to change in order to move forward in the direction I wish to go.

Lately, I've been a whirling dervish of creativity and destruction, simultaneously. Chopping down everything that is blocking my view and holding me back from zooming ahead, as I bury new seeds and build fresh, firm foundations.

Right now, the saying "Let go or be dragged," comes to mind.

I believe the universe wants to help all of us, to advocate for our needs and desires -- assisting us in fulfilling our dreams, however, we need to take accountability for our role in this fulfillment.

The universe will help us only as much as we help ourselves -- it's a 50/50 relationship.

I have to put forth the hard work to get there, and that means doing the most excruciating thing -- letting go of the past, cutting it down, throwing it out and saying goodbye.

Saying goodbye, that's what this time is for -- I have to say goodbye before I can say hello to my future, to my potential, to my destiny.

Be courageous. You're not alone. You've got the universe on your side, and there's nothing more powerful than that. It's time to say goodbye and let go. Drive on.
